Appearance[edit | edit source]
Goldof is tall, with black hair and is always seen with a stern look on his face. He wears heavy and extremely resistant black armor with dark green accents and wields a giant spear in battle. His helmet has two curved horns mimicking a sheep's horns, and his spear is linked to his gauntlet by a heavy chain used like a lanyard.
Personality[edit | edit source]
Goldof is completely devoted to Nashetania. He is also formal when with her, talking extremely politely. He is usually calm outside of battle, but will attack without warning if someone endangers her or when she needs help, Goldof would come and save her whatever the distance is. Nashetania seems to be the only person who can calm Goldof.
Though hinted at earlier in the story, it is made clear during the Illusion Fog Barrier Arc that Goldof is in fact in love with Nashetania. This means that anyone who gets close enough to Nashetania, to the point of being intimate or even friendly, is a target for Goldof's extreme jealousy.
History[edit | edit source]
While Goldof is widely known as a talented, young knight, very few are those who know of his origin. Born from a petty thief and a prostitute, he lived until he was ten as a hoodlum in a small city located west of Piena. Goldof was very tall for his age and was ridiculously strong and fast. He was also subject to strong excesses of anger which made him lose all control of himself, and his anger usually didn't dissipate until he killed everyone around him. Because of this, he was avoided by everyone in the town, as being involved with him meant risking to be killed for no apparent reason. When he was ten, he encountered the princess of his kingdom, Nashetania, who was running away from the king, who went mad, and his soldiers. He fell in love with her without knowing her real identity.
After rescuing her by assaulting a house full of guards by himself in a bloody excess of anger, he was saved and recruited by the Black Horns Knights who were faithful to the princess, and was given a forged name and origin. He learned to write as well as proper manners, and after winning Piena's tournament at the age of 14 (which made him the youngest winner of this annual tournament in history), he received the title of leader of the Black Horns Knights (although he only received the title as a reward, as in fact the old leader still continues to manage the knights as he used to do) as well as a special helm with two curved horns.
After a while, he almost became Nashetania's personal guard, until he was given the order to capture the Six flower's killer. After spending months tracking any signs of the six flower's killer, he finally encountered Chamo and learned of Fremy. However, before being able to find her, he received the mark and immediately headed for the gathering point, leaving his mission unfinished.
Abilities[edit | edit source]
Goldof is a genius fighter, blessed with almost supernatural strength and speed as well as with a resilient and huge body. He is said to be the strongest person in Piena. Nashetania claims he would have won Piena's martial arts tournament the previous year against her if he didn't go easy on her. Goldof is one of the best fighters among the heroes of the six flowers, and becomes even stronger when his princess is in danger.
