Adlet Mayer (アドレット・マイア Adoretto Maia), called Adlet Myer in the anime, is the main protagonist of Rokka no Yuusha and one of the Braves from the third generation. He is one of the 7 heroes trapped inside the mist barrier and is the self-proclaimed strongest man in the world. He fights using tools and trickery to catch his opponent off-guard. Teguneu appeared at his village when he was a child and destroyed it while capturing all the villagers except Adlet. His reason for wanting to become a Brave is revenge. Since he could not become a Saint (only women can become Saints) he went and found Atro, a hermit adept in various fighting styles and in science.
Appearance[]
Adlet's regular outfit
Adlet has long, reddish hair and wears light leather armor with an iron forehead protector. His hair slowly turns to yellow at the tips. Around his waist Adlet has four thick leather belts, each with lots of little pouches full of different tools to fight with. His main weapon is a short sword, used more often in order to parry his opponent's attacks rather than to directly attack his opponents with. He also has an iron box that he carries on his back filled with more tools for fighting Kyouma.
Personality[]
Self-proclaimed "strongest man on earth", he has the verbal tic of using those words in almost every sentence, a verbal tic that people often poke fun at, calling him an idiot. He has an abnormally strong will, never giving up even in the dire situations, as well as a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship. He defines himself as an "ordinary person", opposed to the other heroes who are either genius fighters or Saints.
He takes pride in his method of fighting, saying that the strongest man on earth is someone who uses everything to bring down his opponent and win. He's also well aware that for an ordinary person, becoming the strongest man on earth can only be done with this kind of methods. Because of those methods, he's looked down by others who call his ways of fighting dirty and despicable.
[1] With Mora, he's one of the two heroes who usually try to calm down others when they start fighting. He usually tries to talk things out rather than fight himself as well, and among the heroes, is the character who trusts the others the most easily. Because of what happened in his village, he harbors a strong hatred for Tgurneu.
Adlet has reluctantly shown a great lack of scruples when it comes to Fremy, being able to lie to the braves to keep her safe even if she don´t agree with him, using, manipulating or accusing someone else of being the seventh for that purpose. This has escalated to the point where he seriously considered killing Dozzu, Nashetania, Hans, Goldof and Chamo for trying to kill Fremy, and not ruling out Rolonia or Mora if they betrayed her friendship.
It is later revealed that Adlet used to be a truly miserable child since he lost his village and his family, thinking only of revenge and bloodshed, to the point of attempting to kill a fellow student for find him a job as a merchant's assistant and suggesting to leave the mountains to have a better life and other comments far from provocation.
History[]
Aurora[]
When Adlet was ten, a cunning Kyouma named Tgurneu appeared in his village, Hasuna. His sister Shetra and his best friend Raina died trying to help Adlet escape the village when the rest of the villagers were brainwashed. However, Adlet did not hate his fellow villagers, nor did he blame them for his sister and his best friend's death, but rather Tgurneu for the outcome (as Tgurneu had told them to tear out the hearts of any who resisted and present them to the Kyouma as proof of their allegiance).
Training under Atro[]
Adlet left his homeland to search for Atro Spiker, an old warrior specialized in the hunting and killing of Kyouma, to become his disciple and get back what was taken from him. He didn't receive much result until dreaming about a beautiful girl and recover a certain feeling. In his training, Adlet learned how to fight cunningly; using everything like darts, smoke bombs, explosives, traps in order to bring down his opponents, as well as how to craft those tools, the weaknesses of every type of Kyouma, and gained scientific knowledge as well. Due to the harsh 8 years of training, Adlet is more resilient and faster than most of the other heroes.
The Gathering of the Braves Arc []
Receiving the Mark[]
After his rigorous training, Adlet targeted a nearby tournament in Piena, barging in and interrupting the semifinal match between the kingdom's finest warriors, Batoal Rainhawk and Quato Gain, proclaiming to be the "Strongest Man in the World". The Royal Guards tried to stop Adlet but he took them out and afterward, he fought the two warriors. This resulted in both fighters being wounded, and Adlet being thrown in jail.
Before being isolated, however, a maid visited him in jail and asked him about his fighting style, philosophy, and his goal: to become one of the Six Flowers of the Brave. Adlet replied that he believes he will become a Brave, one of the six chosen warriors to fight the Demon God, and that he wishes to fight alongside Princess Nashetanya, if she were to be chosen as a Brave. He is then moved to an isolated prison cell in a pit.
For many days and nights, Adlet remained in a dark pit, with barely any food and water. Some weeks later, the Braves were chosen and Adlet received the Crest of Six Flowers on his right hand. Soon after, the maid arrived, revealed to be the Princess much to Adlet's surprise, and rescued him from his cell. Nashetania showed him her own Crest - just below her collarbone on her chest. Nashetania freed him at the expense of her own soldiers, trapping them in the same pit they had thrown Adlet in. With that, the both of them fled Piena on horseback and towards the Land of the Howling Demons to meet the other Braves and defeat the Demon God.
Meeting Fremy[]
For several days, Adlet and Nashetania got to know each other through talk and play - though there was a small instance in when Nashetania got too serious in her "play" and nearly skewered him with her swords. Upon rebuking her, Adlet found out about her mischievous nature when she pretended to be saddened and scared of his anger towards her. He was also able to see how her abilities worked, and her free-spirited nature, which exasperated him.
Nonetheless, they began to grow closer, but when a village in their path was attacked by Kyouma, Adlet and Nashetania rushed to their defense and were able to fight together briefly. However, as they were escorting villagers away, Adlet learned of a single girl who had stayed behind. Nashetania implored Adlet that their mission - to defeat the Demon God - was more important than helping one girl and being possibly killed by a Kyouma before then. Unable to do so, Adlet went on ahead of her, leaving Nashetania to defend the villagers against any remaining Kyouma.
Upon reaching the village, Adlet was surprised to find a number of Kyouma corpses, and a ball of iron as the only evidence. Then, he found a girl with white hair in black clothing, helping a dog and its young pup, setting them free. Upon seeing this, Adlet relaxed and revealed himself - only to earn the girl's immediate suspicion and a raised, long-barrelled gun. While he tried to talk to her, he noticed that she too was a Brave. She introduced herself as Fremy Speeddraw, and she didn't want to meet up with the other Braves, but would rather be alone. Then, she shot her gun to distract him long enough to get away. Adlet was determined, however, and followed Fremy quickly, but not before sending Nashetania a message that he was going to go to chase after "another Flower of the Brave" and meet her at the designated meeting place - a temple area outside of the Land of the Howling Demons.
Adlet tracked Fremy, more quickly than she had anticipated, and eventually was able to get ahead of her to trap her. In response to her defiance and second plea to leave her alone, Adlet tricked her when he put away his sword, and instead threw a bomb at her while she was running away, taking her ammo - the iron balls with which she made her bullets with. Without it, she was unfortunately without a weapon and gave into his proposition of going to the meeting place with him.
Reuniting with Nashetania and Goldof[]
For a while, it was just Adlet and Fremy, who was still suspicious of him, even when he'd claimed that he'd protect her and be on her side. He would continually ask why Fremy didn't want to meet the Braves, and why she would think they'd try to kill her (including Adlet), but she wouldn't say.
Eventually, they got to a Fortress that had just been attacked by the Kyouma. Despite Fremy's initial resistance, Adlet persuaded her to accompany him, and they both approached and entered the Fortress. There, they met the last remaining Commander of the Fortress, Private First Class Rowen, who informed them that two other Braves had just passed through (most likely Nashetania and Goldof). He also told Adlet of the temple at the peninsula, the last entry point between the realm of Man and the Land of the Howling Demons.
In it, they would find a temple created by the Saints of Fog, Illusions, and Salt (Seals), which would create a barrier that would prevent all Kyouma from attacking them from behind. It would also serve as a way to prevent any Kyouma from heading towards the realm of Man until the Demon God was dealt with. However, the only problem was that whoever activated the barrier would be stuck inside. Originally, the job would have been left to one of the soldiers - but with so few left, it was highly unlikely that they'd be able to do it. Adlet then surmised that one of the Braves would have to be sacrificed to stay inside the temple until the Demon God was dealt with. Once learning this, Adlet and Fremy set off again, towards the temple and the rest of the Braves.
At a certain point in their journey, Fremy is attacked - by Nashetania and Goldof, no less, who revealed that Fremy was actually the Brave-Killer. And yet, just as he'd promised, Adlet protected her by calling out to Nashetania, who had no choice but to concede and reign in Goldof when he revealed that she was a Brave. This did not dispel Nashetania and Goldof's distrust toward her, though, and even increased Goldof's initial dislike towards Adlet, as the flame-haired teen had earned the beloved Princess' trust and favor in a mere few days. Adlet understood immediately the reason behind Goldof's disposition, and explained that there was nothing going on between them (though Goldof would continue to display hostility towards Adlet whenever the situation wasn't dire).
Illusion Fog Barrier Arc[]
The Enactment of the Barrier[]
Shortly after Adlet, Fremy, Nashetania, and Goldof began to near the temple, a skirmish of aerial Kyouma started bombing it, prompting them to quickly rush towards it. Adlet assumed that it was because one of the Braves, possibly Mora, the Saint of Mountains - as Rowen had informed them of her earlier departure, and ran ahead of the other three at Nashetania's urging. While they dealt with the Kyouma, Adlet found the temple strangely unharmed by the bombing and an injured priestess, who urged him to open the door. Adlet proceeded to do so with a bomb, but as a result of not opening it with the key, a couple of enchanted sets of armor attacked him. This drew his attention to the woman who was meant to activate the barrier, and allow the Braves to go on unhindered, but she instead transformed into a laughing Kyouma.
Cursing the fact that he just opened the door for them, Adlet destroyed the armor easily, then rushed in - only to find that the barrier had already been activated. The sword was in the dais, and the fog fell immediately, casting him into horror at the thought that they were now trapped. Goldof, Nashetania, and Fremy ran in short after, and just as horrified, realized the same.
Trying to undo the barrier, Adlet and his pack began observing the altar - trying to find clues from the makers of the temple. Goldof first removed the sword, but the barrier of fog remained. Next, Adlet theorized from memory that some barriers were removed by spilling blood, and used the sword to cut his hand. Still, it did not work. Then, Nashetania picked up the sword and began to swing it desperately, shouting phrases and breaking the stone tablet on one of the podiums. The barrier remained.
At the end of Nashetania's rampaging, the other Braves began to file in. The first, Chamo, the Saint of Swamps, then Mora and Hans Humpty. With all Braves gathered, they quickly noticed that the number was wrong - there were Seven Braves, not Six - and that's when they all began to suspect each other.
Adlet, confused, began to ask questions along with the other Braves, wondering if it was indeed possible to have Seven. Unfortunately, Mora's knowledge of the prophecy was absolute, and announced that there was a Seventh Flower - a fake Brave - standing among them. Adlet also guessed correctly that the Seventh Flower was the one who activated the barrier, trapping them, and was probably an ally of the Kyouma and wanted to reawaken the Demon God.
Thus, the interrogation started and all the Braves introduced themselves, with Adlet going first, announcing his usual "I'm the World's Strongest Man" speech. As each Brave went up to the altar, Adlet continued to add each piece of information to his knowledge, analyzing and investigating which person might be the Seventh Flower. Immediately, he ruled out Fremy, Nashetania, himself, and Goldof, which only left Mora, Chamo, and Hans. His first guess was Hans, as he was the one who he knew about the least - he was also an assassin, which didn't sit well with Adlet. It also didn't help that Hans targeted Fremy as the Seventh Flower, and she became the first majority-decided suspect. With nothing to prove her innocence, however, Adlet was having a hard time being the only one to come to her defense.
Luckily, Hans quickly pointed out that in Adlet's explanation of earlier events, Adlet had walked in front of Fremy for a long period of time. With his back turned towards her, Fremy, as the Seventh Flower, could have taken him out at any time, without need of having to come to the temple and become surrounded by enemies. By chance, Adlet indirectly saved Fremy and ruled her out as the Seventh Flower entirely.
This, unfortunately, turned everyone's attention to Adlet, who became the biggest suspect as he was the only one who had opened the temple doors. And since it had been closed previously, it meant that Adlet was the only one who had been there at the time the barrier was activated - the only who could have done it, in other words. It was clear that Adlet was framed, but he had no proof by which he could clear himself, and with only Nashetania in his corner, things were looking grim. As they put it to a vote as to whether Adlet was guilty or not, Mora, Goldof, and Hans agreed that he was guilty, while Chamo was more interested in torturing Fremy, Nashetania claimed he was innocent, and Fremy was indifferent. At Nashetania's fervent support for Adlet, Goldof became enraged, and began to attack Adlet. Hans followed shortly, but with the aid of his flash bombs, Adlet was able to paralyze Fremy with a poisoned needle and take her hostage.
With the certainty that Fremy was indeed their comrade, they had no choice but to let them leave alive - but not before Hans was able to throw one of his knives, striking Adlet in the back. Now hunted, Adlet ran until he couldn't anymore, and eventually passed out with Fremy next to him, and his back bleeding from the knife wound.
On the Run[]
When Adlet came to, he found himself shirtless, but his wound dressed - courtesy of a now-awake Fremy. The two began talking after they built a fire to ward against the cold foggy night, and revealed their histories to each other - where Adlet told of a demon who came to his village when he was a child, resulting in a betrayal of his village that resulted in his sister and his best friend's death in trying to protect him. Adlet eventually would find his way to Atro Spiker, where he learned everything from science to weapons to the Kyouma's weaknesses.
The Traitor is Revealed[]
After verifying the true mechanism to activate the barrier with the plates that Chamo and Hans Found, it is revealed that to activate the barrier, one must break the plate, this make everyone suspect of the princess, then Adlet remembers that she was the one who told him get ahead to the temple, so there was really clear evidence that Nashetania is the traitor and tried to incriminate Adlet, which she confess, making everyone except Goldof to attack her, and then running away canceling the barrier.
Meeting Rolonia
Eternal Flower Mountain Arc[]
Hans Dies and Rolonia Proves her Worth
The Braves arrive to a mountain and Goldof is seriously depressed but still has will to fight. Corpe Soldiers Forest Arc[]
The Plan to Get to the Temple of Fate
Raina and the Black Barrenbloom
One of Tgurneu's Dark specialists uses corpse puppets to hunt the braves, one of those corpses is Adlet's childhood friend, Raina. After the braves manage to kill the Kyouma that controls the corpses, Adlet has a moment to talk with his friend for the last time before he pass on, who doesn't recognize Adlet, but still reveals that Tgurneu has a weapon called the "Black Barrenbloom".
Temple Of Fate Arc[]
Hans's Warning[]
The braves go ahead to the Temple Of Fate, with the intention of finding clues about the Black Barrenbloom and Hans tells Adlet that if there are no option, he will kill Fremy to which adlet tells him to wait just a little longer to be sure.
The temple, which is laid out like a labyrinth, is easily navigable thanks to Mora's skills, It is thanks to this that they reach the center, where Mora identifies a chained mummified saint sitting in a chair. With Nashetania and Dozzu waiting in the previous room and Goldof watching over them. Mora deduces that she is actually the Saint of the Single Flower and the braves are worried about the implications of Tgurneu coming into contact with her.
Without the possibility of finding more clues there, Adlet and Hans decide to look for more in the other rooms of the temple, where Adlet finds one full of Kyouma corpses and begins to make a plan to prevent Fremy from dying. However, once they return, these fears turn out to be true when Mora verifies that the Black Barrenbloom indeed was created there and would kill the braves. Reaching a stalemate and to everyone's surprise, Fremy confesses to feeling strong suspicions that she is the Black Barrenbloom and that it is best for her to be sacrificed there. The braves regret having to come to this, but Fremy tries to convince them that It's okay and she knew that Tgurneu would employ such a tactic and they couldn't do anything about it, reluctantly, everyone was in favor, except for Adlet, Rolonia and to a lesser extent, Mora.
Lies[]
Desperate at the revelation, Adlet lies, claiming to have seen words of light saying "It's a trap, don't kill the girl" in the room he checked, but although most They were surprised by this false information, neither Fremy nor Hans believed a single word of him. Fremy says she accepts her fate and as proof of this, she takes out a dog whistle and steps on it, breaking it. Hans puts his sword on Adlet's back ordering him to apologize for lying, he then confessed to having followed him and not having seen anything of what he claimed, Mora supported this, saying that with his second vision she saw Hans follow Adlet, but that she did not pay much attention to him. Adlet asks Mora to check the room to which Mora goes, but only finds yellow jewels with no other purpose than to illuminate.
Hostage Situation[]
With no other option but to use force, Adlet takes out a needle and sticks it into Fremy with the aim of paralyzing her and when he is subdued by his companions, he orders Rolonia to take Fremy away, which she agrees to do and is pursued by Chamo, while Dozzu declares not wanting to get involved. Faced with the threat of having to confront Goldof and Hans, Mora decides to side with Adlet, expressing regret at seeing them have to take such drastic action so easily and setting up barriers to help Adlet escape from the knight and the assassin, as well as give him one to use in case of emergency.
Nashetania also ends up disappearing to look for Rolonia and help her distract the Jyumas from Chamo.
However, Adlet's relief would not last long as Mora would use his second vision to lead him down a dead end, trying to convince him that Fremy's death would be best for everyone and that she really resents doing this to him. Taking advantage of the fact that Mora lowered her guard, Adlet used one of his needles to render her unconscious, but not before making her use her powers to send the message to the braves.
Chamo finds Rolonia, furiously explains the situation to them, Fremy finally recovers from the paralysis and refuses to take her own life until Mora's situation is resolved, then the three of them go to the location of an injured Adlet and Hans join them, while Goldof stayed guard over Dozzu.
Nashetania's Move[]
Nashetania met with number 30, who in front of her gave vague information to other Kyouma to kill Fremy to activate the Black Barrenbloom, but the Kyoma is reduced by the princess to its core. and she finds a jewel of light different from those used to illuminate the temple. Still, some minor Kyouma force enters the temple and met their demise at Goldof and Dozzu's hands.
Breaking the Barrier[]
Once with Adlet, Hans asks Chamo to concentrate on guarding the place, then when Chamo leaves, Hans charges at Adlet, but is stopped by a barrier that he activates, the same one that Mora had given him for an emergency, so Fremy and Hans attack the barrier while Rolonia tries to convince Adlet to hand over Mora and he tries to convince her that there must be a Kyouma hidden in the temple responsible for the message he saw and that perhaps it has a different jewel than the ones she saw. They are used to illuminate, but Hans dismisses those possibilities and accuses him of being the seventh and that his role is precisely protecting Fremy. Adlet begins to have severe headaches and hears a voice calling him to kill Fremy, Rolonia begins to change her mind too. suddenly and attack Fremy, but she deflects her attacks and orders her to first end this hostage situation, to which Rolonia asks Adlet to enter the barrier and take her hostage instead of Mora, because for her It would be easier to find said Kyouma, however, when he lets her in, Rolonia attacks Adlet, who is forced to throw a needle at her to temporarily neutralize her,
Fremy's Epiphany
After some time under attack, the barrier falls, and Fremy tells Hans to be more careful from now on so as not to hurt Mora or Rolonia, aiming at Adlet's feet Fremy begins to use bombs to force him to move, which she succeeds in doing. , but one of the bags on Adlet's belt falls off and he prepares to kick it so that its interior is not damaged by the bombs, being seriously injured instead by doing this, it is revealed that the contents were in fact Fremy's broken dog whistle. In complete shock and under the epiphany that without a doubt Adlet truly loved her and always put her first (in contrast to her own family), Fremy begins to doubt that she should die and Nashetania arrives on the scene just in time to help her to escape from Hans and an Adlet who was now giving in to the call to kill Fremy, which must have been effectively facilitated by a Kyouma in the temple. That Kyouma, Number 14 began to use his ability also on Chamo, making her go to kill Fremy who was fleeing through the temple by throwing bombs which ended up killing the kyouma while Nashetania tried to contain Hans. Then Mora had woken up and told the braves to meet again to discuss what had happened.
The Meeting[]
Once reunited, the braves catch up on the events in the temple, when Mora asks Adlet who he thinks the seventh is, he implies that he thinks it is Hans, Nashetania also tells the braves that she pretended to betray them and that the Kyoumas actually tried to kill Fremy, in addition to the fact that the one she killed, number 30, had a jewel that could explain Adlet's message. However, neither Hans nor Chamo agreed with what happened, and fervently believed that everything was a ruse by Adlet, being forced to separate from the group.
The Seventh is Revealed?[]
It turns out that Adlet actually saw words of light while exploring the temple, however, they were to contact the seventh. Taking the opportunity to save Fremy, Adlet decides to use this to contact number 30 when Mora is taken hostage, instructing the kyouma to hurt him, find a non-yellow jewel, break it, eat it so that when the Kyouma is killed, the braves can believe Adlet story, and additionaly to contact with Nashetania or Dozzu to fake a leak of false information that killing Fremy wouldn't affect the Black Barrenbloom.
Tgurneu 's Master Plan Arc[]
Tgurneu's Main Forces Arrive
Tgurneu's army begins to pursue the braves at night in groups of dozens, with about 700 in total. For their part, Hans and Chamo fight against about 100 of it's elite soldiers.
Tgurneu's squad consists of a small Kyouma-goat (which is Specialist number 11), a "gorilla" (24), a Kyouma-hippopotamus, a Kyouma-caterpillar (17), a Kyouma-snake (13), a Kyouma-spider and 40 others, but plans to use a fake command center making a Kyouma-wolf impersonate him guarded by hundred of other Kyoumas.
Adlet's Plan to Burn the Army and get to Tgurneu
The wolf constantly talks like Tgurneu, provoking everyone, but none of the braves believe that he is the real one. Dozzu confirms that the wolf is not Tgurneu because at his side he has a hedgehog-shaped Kyouma (24) who is capable of transmitting information to his "twin", with whom this wolf constantly consults. Fremy mentions that one of the Kyoma is a leopard capable of camouflage and they deduce that it is the last messenger that the false commando would use to receive orders.
The braves hide in a cave to plan how to kill Tgurneu, Adlet opens his metal box and begins to mix substances to fortify his flammable liquid, his idea consists of spreading dry leaves with the liquid and having Fremy detonate them with gunpowder to cause a fire that end the army, but to do that there must be a couple of decoys to atract the Kyoumas, while that happen they'll get rid of number 24 and the aerial messengers, forcing the leopard to go towards Tgurneu, but not before hitting some jewel of light with some of the adlet liquid without it realizing it.
Goldov refuses following Adlet's plan but Nashetania swallows one of Fremy's bombs forcing him obey,
Fremy's Chained-Death and The Seventh is Revealed
The Lies of Hans Humpy
Tgurneu Shows up, Putting the Braves Againts the Ropes
Abilities[]
At the age of ten, after that all the people around him were either killed or taken away by the cunning kyouma leader Tgurneu, he became the disciple of Atoro, an old warrior specialized in the hunt and killing of kyouma, from who he undertakes a really harsh training for eight years. From him, he learned how to fight cunningly, using everything like darts, smoke bombs, explosives, traps in order to bring down his opponents, as well as how to craft those tools, the weaknesses of every type of kyouma, and gained scientific knowledge as well. Due to the harsh 8 years of training, he's really resilient and faster than most of the other heroes.
He usually wears four leather belts with a lot of little pouches which are full of those tools, and fight strategically, trying to bring his opponent's guard down and surprise him with his different tools. His main weapon is a short sword, used more often in order to parry his opponent's attacks rather than to attack his opponents.
Though Fremy has asserted that he is the weakest Brave in combat and Mora believed that he would be the easiest to kill in a specific way when she was blackmailed by Tgurneu.
However, this shows that they have greatly underestimated Adlet who demonstrated the ability to keep ahead of and fend off most of the Braves when they believed him to be the seventh when trapped in the Phantasmal Barrier, during which he went toe-to-toe with veteran assassin Hans Humpty while not trying to actually kill him, and aid Mora, Fremy and Rolonia in fighting Tgurneu in battle.
Indeed, Hans, himself, suggested that if they thought about who would be the most dangerous of the seventh than Adlet would be the most dangerous along with Chamo which was one of the reasons that he kept a close eye on Adlet as the most likely person to be the seventh.
Poisonous Blood: It is also revealed that during the training with Atro, he is given the task of giving an ingenious use to the nail of the saints, after stabbing himself in the chest, his blood acquires the same properties, this is evidenced after the final fight against Tgurneu, in the one that Fremy feels an intense pain after accidentally touching his wounds.
Enchanced Endurance: Adlet has endured innumerable attacks from both Kyoma and his fellow heroes, including a shot to his leg by Fremy and several cuts made by Hans. Despite this, he has continued to formulate strategies and trying to protect Fremy.
Weapon Mastery: Adlet fights with a variety weapons that he has in his bags and the belts located along his chest .[2]
His weapons includes pain darts, poison darts, paralysis darts, smoke bombs, tear gas bombs, saints nail, swords, etc.
Adlet has a very versatile, creative and unorthodox method of fighting, so much that he calls himself the strongest man in the world[1], by using any technique he can to bring down his opponent, instead of relying on strength alone. Adlets's use of tools and fighting style revolves around fighting smarter not harder, fighting enemies in a creative and cunning manner rather than facing them head on or over power them with brute force. However because of his unorthodox fighting style people tend to call him a "cowardly warrior", but these do not take away from his ability to hold his own in combat.
Keen Intellect: Adlet's greatest strength is his mind, while it is not established if his mental abilities were a part of Altro Spiker's training Adlet has a clear talent and aptitude for leadership being able to come up with highly effective plans, using his tricks and gadgets to trick his opponents, predict their movements and use poison to defeat his enemies.
After becoming the leader of the Braves Adlet demonstrated high leadership skills and charisma, (inadvertently) adding some levity to them in some situations, and take charge by quickly analyzing the situation at hand and the strategy of the enemy and using the strengths of the rest of the Braves to prioritize defeating the Majin; in Volume 3 Adlet showed that he could lead the Braves as a unit despite their different personalities and without prior training. By using tarps to cover them and distractions made by Chamo's Jyuma to distract Tgurneu's forces so that they could get through the Forest of Severed Fingers in as little time as possible with as little bloodshed as possible. His charisma was shown earlier as well when he managed to rally Fremy and Hans to his side during his stint when Mora attempted to kill him for being the imposter Brave.
Detective Abilities: It was Adlet who deduced who was seventh was when he and the other braves (excluding Rolonia) were trapped in the Phantasmal Barrier, and was quick to utilize factors that had eluded other Braves to deduce certain lies that the enemy was using to sow deceit within their circle, and prove the innocence of Mora when the facts were against her. It has also been shown that Adlet has an excellent memory, remembering the exact circumstances at what happened and deducing that the way they had been informed that the barrier would activate was false in order to give the fake brave an alibi and incriminate him to throw off suspicion to one of the real ones.
Adlet's talents with investigation have been a Ubiquitous aid with keeping ahead of Tgurneu's machinations and getting out alive; with very little information deduced Tgurneu's Fig-Fruit status for instance.

-The Saint’s Spike: Said to be Atro's masterpiece, its a primitive-looking stake whose tip has the crystalized blood of a saint, because the blood is extremely corrosive to the kyouma, this weapon can kill in one hit any of them, adlet discovered during his training that it can be used on self as a last resort to have those properties in his blood, alowing him to escape any kyouma captor.
Relationships[]
Fremy[]
Adlet has an unusually strong drive to protect Fremy at all costs. Adlet protected Fremy and said that she was not the Fake Brave. Adlet tells Fremy that he loves her, but Fremy gets confused and say that she didn't trust him, but when he proved to Mora that it wasn't Fremy who activated the barrier she thinks that maybe she can really trust him. Fremy tells him she hates him, because when she is with him she wants to live. Adlet slowly gains her trust because he was the first person to be nice to her since she was betrayed by the Kyoma, he didn't treat her any differently even after finding out about her past as the Six Flower Killer and her nature as a half Kyoma as well as proving his desire to protect her is indeed real. After all this, Adlet has become the only one of the Braves she genuinely trusts, as well as caring about his well-being, even showing shades of love towards him.
Throughout history they frequently believe that the other deep down despises them, and in both cases is shocking for them to realize that this is in fact not true at all.
Because of his feelings for Fremy were merely a result of being under the influence of Tgurneu's power. In aftermath of Tgurneu's death Adlet is very sorry for what he has done to the braves and, to Fremy's surprise, admits that killing Tgurneu would have been easier if Fremy had died before, still it is unclear if he actually hates her now.
Hans[]
Adlet was first very cautious about Hans since he was not well-known compared to the other Braves that gathered, therefore Adlet suspected that he had a high chance of being the fake brave. Hans acknowledged Adlet as a genuine Brave after their fight, since Hans claims that people can't lie right before dying. Hans noticed that Adlet didn't look confused when the former bluffed about being the seventh brave before nearly killing him.
Nashetania[]
Adlet and Nashetania first met when Adlet was in jail for disrupting the tournament in Piena. Nashetania was disguised as a maid to have a conversation with Adlet. She frees him from his cell after the Braves were chosen and they traveled together to the meeting point. When the mystery of the seventh Brave happened Nashetania strongly believed that Adlet was a real brave to the point where she was willing to find evidence to prove Adlet's innocence. However, it was all just a fake act, and once it was revealed that Nashetania was the fake brave Adlet felt betrayed along with the others and took a while to properly comprehend what had happened.
Mora[]
At first, Mora severely underestimated Adlet, it was in the middle of the barrier that she understood that Adlet was actually someone very capable, persistent and therefore dangerous, after this, it did not take her long to trust him and be more understanding and gentle despite not agreeing with him. Adlet trusts Mora most of the time.
Chamo[]
Adlet is aware of how dangerous Chamo is, but most of the time he does not have any good or ill feelings towards her beyond camaraderie. On the other hand, Adlet is the person that Chamo underestimates and despises the most in the group just behind Rolonia, cooperating with him when only she has no option and hardly ever trusting him one bit.
Goldof[]
Goldof envies the attention Nashetania gives to Adlet. But it is later revealed that he has great regard for him and considers him very intelligent although he is openly not inclined to trust him.
Rolonia[]
Adlet first met Rolonia when she came to Atro Spiker for training. At this time, Adlet was still training under him as well. Later it is revealed that it was thanks to Rolonia that adlet manages to graduate from kyoma killer under Atro's tutelage, thus they consider each other as a good old friend.
Tgurneu[]
Because of what happened in his village, he harbors a strong hatred for Tgurneu. His hatred is so strong that he charges at him at sight upon seeing him for the first time in years.
Turns out Adlet has been under Tgurneu's brainwashing effect for years. When he was a child, Tgurneu brainwashed him to give him his current personality and make him fall in love with Fremy so Tgurneu could use him as a pawn in his plan to kill the Braves.
